Abstract

O artigo faz uma discussão sobre o Programa Nacional de Produção e Uso do Biodiesel (PNPB), que desde 2004 vem ganhando a atenção de vários segmentos sociais, públicos e privados, envolvidos com a busca de alternativas à matriz energética brasileira. Para tanto, o trabalho resgata todo o processo de construção dessa política específica, bem como discute a situação atual do programa, realçando os desafios atuais à luz das experiências internacionais.----------------------------------------------The paper discusses the National Program of Biofuel in Brazil. Since 2004 public and private actors are giving attention to the program, specifically in the actions that are developing to the governmental decisions about energy models in Brazil. So, the study discuss the process of public policy and the actual situation of Biofuel program, highlighting the main constrains in according to the international experiences in this area.
