Abstract
It’s the second vegetable most consumed, losing only to potato. The objective this work is show the evolution of tomato production in Rondônia. Data has obtained by the IBGE – RO, EMATR – RO and SEAPS. The period considered was from 1997 to 2006 to tomato production. Average of production increase was calculated in four great areas of State of Rondônia. After that, using the nonlinear regression, the increase rates of the cultivate area and productivity were calculated, as well the contributions of cultivate area and productivity to increase production in ten years. At the end the article you will be able to verify that as the area as the productivity had almost the same percentual rates of contribution to increase production.
