Abstract
O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir e analisar a competitividade do sistema agroindustrial da carne bovina do Tocantins com base em alguns direcionadores, tendo como parâmetro as três unidades federativas que apresentam os maiores números em termos de abate e o maior volume de produção de carne bovina: Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais e São Paulo. A cadeia produtiva da carne bovina do Tocantins apresenta um cenário em processo de formação e, em relação aos demais estados analisados, um desempenho competitivo ainda baixo. O exame detalhado da situação atual desta cadeia aponta que em todos os segmentos analisados: produção pecuária, abate e processamento, consumo e distribuição, os números indicam a necessidade de esforços na busca do desenvolvimento de fatores que gerem competitividade e que permitam aproximar o resultado do Tocantins dos líderes nacionais nesse setor.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The purpose of paper is to discuss and analyze the competitiveness of the agribusiness´s meat from Tocantins based on some parameters. The agribusiness beef in Tocantins presented indicators of competitiveness revealed smaller than the other regional departments surveyed (Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo). The detailed examination of the current situation in this chain indicates that in all segments analyzed: livestock production, slaughtering and processing, consumption and distribution, the numbers indicate the need for efforts in the pursuit of development of factors that generate competitiveness, which will bring the result of Tocantins of national leaders in that industry.
