Abstract

Slovenian agriculture and its promotion institutions are in intensive process of transition. The actual agricultural policy is in favour of developing the small-scale family owned and managed farms. New established agricultural advisory service is exclusively devoted to the promotion of private small-farm sector. Other parts of the agricultural knowledge system the research, training and education institutions do not seem to be well prepared to support the farmers and advisers. Creation of new Central National Station Jable as a base of new established knowledge system and clear political and juridical decisions about it could accelerate the organisational reform in the agricultural knowledge and promotion system, and could create stronger linkagesand better cooperation between involved institutions.
