Example of Emerging a Commercial Family Farm in Croatia

Abstract

The paper describes basic production and economic features of one emerging commercial dairy family farm in Croatia. The available production resources and their use have been analyzed. Among the economic features the significance of quality and amount of invested long-term and short- -term assets are stressed as well as cash receipts and expenses of farm. By an analysis of gross product the economic significance of particular production sector of farm is pointed out, and the survey of farm realized costs, income and profit is given. In the work it is also pointed out justifiability of orienting the family farm to dairy production, with regard to natural and position comparative advantages.
