Abstract

Vogelgrippe löste im Februar 2006 eine immense Welle von Medienberichten aus. Wie wurden Berichterstattung und politische Maßnahmen wahrgenommen? Eine Meinungsumfrage und Experteninterviews ergaben: In einem beachtlichen Umfang empfanden die Bürger die Berichterstattung als angemessen, die Bewertung der Keulungen und der Stallpflicht fällt schwer, Bürger, die in der Nähe von Fundorten infizierter Wildvögel leben, neigen zu paradoxen Verhaltensweisen. Experten erlebten die Bevölkerung sehr beunruhigt. In ihrer täglichen Arbeit erleben sie die Folgen der hohen Berichterstattung, betonen gleichzeitig die Aufklärungsarbeit, die durch die Medien geleistet wurde. Konsequenzen werden abgeleitet über Strategien der Bürger, Unsicherheit zu reduzieren und verbesserte Kommunikation von Präventionsmaßnahmen.
