Manejo Del Residuo De Fermentacion Alcoholica De Melaza (Rfam) Y Su Utilizacion En La Alimentacion De Ovinos Para Carne En La Republica Dominicana

Abstract

Cuatro ensayos fueron realizados con el proposito de estudiar caracteristicas determinantes del manejo de los residuos de fermentation alcoholica de la melaza (RFAM), la aceptacion y la respuesta animal a su suplementacion en dietas de ovinos. Al RFAM fueron realizadas las pruebas del secado natural, de migration de nutrientes y de aceptabilidad en seis ovinos de ambos sexos. Para evaluar la respuesta animal, se utilizaron los datos de 80 ovinos machos. En ellos fueron evaluados el consumo de materia seca, la ganancia de peso vivo, la eficiencia alimenticia y el beneficio relativo. El RFAM mostro buena aceptabilidad por parte de los ovinos, limitantes para su conservation natural por la alta migration de los nutrientes, por lo que debe suministrarse separado de los demas componentes en forma fresca (humeda) y ganancias de peso en ovinos de hasta un 50% por encima de dietas a base de pastos. En dietas balanceadas para ovinos, la inclusion de RFAM no presento efectos negativos en cuanto a crecimiento y salud de los animales y pudo sustituir a la melaza hasta en un 66% y reducir los costos de la ration en un 30 a 60%.
