Evaluation des Strategies Optimales de Production et de Transformation du riz a Travers Une Analyse du Consentement Des Consommateurs au Benin: Application du Model Hedonique

Abstract

Le présent article vise à analyser les facteurs déterminant la préférence des consommateurs et leur consentement à payer pour bénéficier des attributs du riz local et du riz importé. Le modèle de prix hédonique a été utilisé pour déterminer les prix marginaux implicites des attributs du riz local et du riz importé. Les données aussi bien quantitatives que qualitatives ont été collectées auprès d’un échantillon de 233 ménages consommateurs de riz repartis dans deux départements du Bénin (Collines et Littoral). Il ressort des résultats que pour le riz importé, les prix marginaux implicites sont de 45,3FCFA pour l’absence de corps étrangers, 46,25FCFA pour la disponibilité toute l’année, 51,66 FCFA pour la blancheur, 16,21FCFA pour l’arôme et 14,11FCFA pour la cohésion des grains. Quant au riz local, les consommateurs sont disposés à payer marginal pour bénéficier des attributs tels que la cohésion (18,88 FCFA) et la forte capacité de gonflement (13,84FCFA). Pour les autres attributs tels que la disponibilité en période pré récolte, la disponibilité en période de récolte ou de post-récolte et le goût, les prix marginaux implicites sont négatifs pour le riz local : - 48,24 ; -39,94 et -51,56FCFA respectivement. Plusieurs efforts restent donc à faire pour changer cette tendance.
