Le Paysage des emissions de CO2 a Travers l'Afrique : Une Perspective Comparative

Abstract

L'expansion des chaines de valeur mondiales (CVM) est une benediction mitigee pour l'environnement. Les effets de la croissance et les emissions du transport associees au commerce international ont des effets negatifs ; mais les flux plus importants de connaissances et les retombees associees, ainsi que l'adoption de produits innovants sur le plan environnemental, ont des effets positifs. Cette etude fournit des donnees sur les emissions de dioxyde de carbone (CO2) pour 51 pays africains et 132 autres pays, couvrant 163 produits sur la periode 1995-2015. Le paysage qui en resulte est resume en six modeles. Les modeles identifies pour la region Afrique different de ceux observes dans d'autres regions, mais sont etroitement lies a un comparateur agrege synthetique construit sur la base de trois caracteristiques : le revenu par habitant, la part de l'industrie manufacturiere dans le PIB et la distance par rapport aux partenaires commerciaux.
