L'impact de la fragilite sur la croissance et la pauvrete au Nigeria : Une analyse desagregee au niveau de l'etat

Abstract

Cette etude a examine de maniere empirique le lien entre la fragilite et la croissance, ainsi que le lien entre la fragilite et la pauvrete, dans un echantillon de 36 etats et du territoire de la capitale federale (FCT) au Nigeria. Nous avons egalement examine les relations macroeconomiques et sociopolitiques dans les etats fragiles et non fragiles du Nigeria. En utilisant des donnees couvrant la periode entre 2011 et 2015, l'approche statique (moindres carres ordinaires, effet fixe et effet aleatoire) et l'approche dynamique (difference et methode generalisee des moments) ont ete explorees pour fournir des reponses a certaines questions cles de l'etude. Les resultats ont montre que l'approche neoclassique et l'approche socio-politique se completent. Nous avons egalement observe que la croissance economique et la pauvrete necessitent une attention urgente dans les etats fragiles et non fragiles, mais qu'une attention particuliere devrait etre accordee aux etats fragiles afin de les sortir du piege de la fragilite pour qu'ils soient plus resilients. Les deux regions connaissent toujours un niveau eleve de pauvrete associe a un declin de la croissance.
