L'Impact du Programme de Subvention des Engrais par Porte-Monnaie electronique et ses Incidences sur la Securite Alimentaire au Nigeria

Abstract

Cette etude a examine les impacts du programme de subvention des engrais par porte-monnaie electronique sur la quantite d'engrais utilisee, la production agricole et le rendement au Nigeria. L'etude a utilise les ensembles de donnees du panel de l'enquete generale sur les menages du Nigeria (GHS) de 2010/2011 et 2012/2013 qui contiennent 5000 menages agricoles dans chacun des panels. Nous avons fait appel a des techniques d'evaluation pertinentes pour analyser les donnees. Les resultats de l'analyse d'impact montrent que le programme a generalement permis d'augmenter le rendement, la production agricole et la quantite d'engrais achetes par les agriculteurs correspondants de 38 %, 47 % et 16 %, respectivement. L'etude conclut que l'augmentation de la productivite, engendree par le programme, peut contribuer a reduire l'insecurite alimentaire au Nigeria. La mise en place d'infrastructures rurales, telles qu'un bon reseau routier, l'accessibilite aux telephones mobiles, a la radio, etc., permettra aux petits exploitants agricoles de mieux profiter du programme ou de tout autre programme agricole similaire au Nigeria.
