Le Commerce des Services en Afrique : Structure et Croissance

Abstract

Cette etude montre que le commerce des services n'en est encore qu'a ses debuts en Afrique ; sa croissance a commence plus tard que pour d'autres economies developpees et en developpement et, jusqu'a present, il implique principalement des services peu specialises. En dissociant les differentes sources de croissance du commerce, nous constatons que les determinants de la demande et de l'offre ont ete relativement stables au cours de la periode 2002-2016, tandis que la diversification des services et la politique commerciale sont les principaux catalyseurs. En particulier, la liberalisation du commerce des biens a egalement augmente le commerce des services en raison des complementarites entre les deux. En termes d'implication geographique et industrielle, les services produits en Afrique sont capables d'atteindre des destinations plus lointaines que les biens, mais ils sont concentres sur les industries proches de la demande finale, manquant ainsi les services hautement qualifies qui sont plus en amont, mais representent des intrants a plus forte valeur ajoutee. Par consequent, il est encore possible de prendre en compte le commerce des services comme une source potentielle de croissance et de developpement pour les pays africains
