Diferencias inter e intra-provinciales en el logro de aprendizajes básicos en Matemática

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar las desigualdades en los resultados de calidad educativa inter-provinciales, su relevancia en relación a las desigualdades al interior de cada provincia, e intentar identificar factores explicativos de ambas. El artículo centra su atención en el nivel educativo medio y hace uso de datos del operativo Aprender 2016 en el área de matemática. Se aplica un modelo de regresión logística multinivel y se concluye que existen brechas que pueden asociarse a diversas características de las provincias. Específicamente, a mayores tasas de pobreza y escolarización se vinculan posibilidades de fracaso educativo más elevadas; mientras que mayores erogaciones en el gasto público por alumno se relacionan a menores probabilidades de no alcanzar los resultados definidos como mínimos en matemáticas.
