Widersprüche und Ambivalenzen kommunaler Integrationskonzepte

Abstract

Nach einer kurzen Thematisierung der Stadt als Ort der Integration, anknüpfend an Konzepte von Georg Simmel und Robert Park, befasst sich der Beitrag mit den inhaltlichen Ausrichtungen der policy, der Integrationspolitik von Städten. Empirische Grundlage ist eine Analyse von Integrationskonzepten von Großstädten, die in den letzten Jahren verabschiedet wurden. Nach einer Darstellung der Organisationsformen, Prinzipien und Handlungsfelder, die in vielen Konzepten große Ähnlichkeiten aufweisen, werden inhaltliche Ambivalenzen (interkulturelle Öffnung der Stadtverwaltungen und Segregation von Migrant(inn)en) sowie politisch begründete Widersprüche diskutiert, die die Chancen und Effekte lokaler Integrationspolitik infrage stellen.
