Abstract

Internationale Migration und die gesellschaftliche Herausforderung der Integration sind hochaktuelle Themen für Politik und Gesellschaft in Deutschland. Die Konzentration von Personen mit Migrationshintergrund in bestimmten städtischen Quartieren sowie die zunehmende Diversität der Migrant(inn)en nach Herkunft, Sprache, Religion, Bildungsniveau oder sozialem Status stellen Stadt- und Regionalentwicklung vor grundlegende Aufgaben. In den bisherigen Forschungen der Akademie für Raumforschung und Landesplanung blieb die zunehmende Diversität der Bevölkerung infolge internationaler Zuwanderung unterrepräsentiert. Ziel des Arbeitskreises "Räumliche Auswirkungen der internationalen Migration" war es, das Thema in seinen gesellschaftlichen und räumlichen Zusammenhängen zu betrachten.
