Residenzstadt Celle - Reurbanisierung in einer Mittelstadt

Abstract

Auch in Mittelstädten wie Celle findet Reurbanisierung statt. Mehr noch, der mittlerweile auch statistisch belegbare Trend kann zur Stärkung der Rolle als Oberzentrum am Rande der Metropolregion genutzt werden. Durch konsequente Innenentwicklung sowie Ortsteilarrondierungen will Celle seine städtischen Stärken der kurzen Wege und der Infrastrukturausstattung gegenüber dem Umland ausspielen. Im Wettbewerb mit der Landeshauptstadt und den Städten der Region Hannover werden dabei neben dem Preisaspekt zunehmend auch Qualitätsaspekte in Baukultur und Infrastrukturausstattung eine Rolle spielen. Hier kann Celle eigene Qualitäten einbringen, muss aber im Infrastrukturbereich trotz angespannter Haushaltslage weiter investieren. Im Verhältnis zu den überhitzten Wohnungsmärkten in Hannover und den direkt angrenzenden Städten kann Celle eine Entlastung anbieten und eine auch raumordnerisch und regionalplanerisch attraktive Alternative darstellen.
