Das System Zentraler Orte in Deutschland

Abstract

Zentrale Orte gehören zu den wichtigsten Instrumenten der Raumordnung. Durch das Raumordnungsgesetz sind die Länder zur Ausweisung Zentraler Orte verpflichtet. Da die konkrete Ausgestaltung der Zentrale-Orte-Konzepte Aufgabe der Länder ist, haben sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten unterschiedliche Ausprägungen entwickelt. Der Beitrag gibt einen bundesweiten Überblick über die von den Ländern und Regionen festgelegten Zentralen Orte. Neben ihrer Anzahl und Größe werden auch ihre Lage und Netzdichte betrachtet. Zudem wird die Tragfähigkeit der Zentralen Orte sowie ihrer Verflechtungsbereiche thematisiert.
