Internationalization of Major Currencies

Abstract

The history of the evolution of international monetary systems is also a history of the internationalization of major currencies. This chapter reviews the internationalization of the British pound sterling, the dollar, the Deutsch mark, and the Japanese yen to provide reference for the internationalization of the renminbi.
