Post Patent Granting

Abstract

Many inventors think that, once a patent is issued, their association with the patent is over. This is largely untrue as the granting of a patent is just the beginning of the patent value chain. The ultimate goal of filing a patent is to claim a piece of legal right that can be enforced and used to create commercial value. There are still many technical contributions and duties required of the inventors while their patents are in force. This chapter highlights some activities, which require inventors' attention and contributions after their patents are granted.
