Abstract

This research paper is an overview of technology-induced change in the entertainmentmedia industry value chain focusing on film and television distribution. Specifically, which key emerging distribution technologies are disruptive' enough to induce change is explored. The impacts of emerging technologies such as digital cinema, video on demand (VOD), personal video recorders (PVR), high definition television (HDTV) and video over wireless devices (VOWD) are studied.
