Abstract

In their “Foreword” to Yair’s 1966 book, The Foreign Investment Decision Process, Professors Raymond A. Bauer, Pearson Hunt, and Raymond Vernon note that “What is needed is not a series of insights but rather a breaking down of barriers by the creation of a new structure of theory”. This idea, certainly akin to Thomas S. Kuhn’s Structure of Scientific Revolutions, which was already in its 6th edition in 1966, struck me when I was a doctoral student and is something you would hardly have heard even 30 years later at my university…
