Digital Inclusivity in Sports Training – From High-Performance Sports to Mass Sports

Abstract

Digital inclusivity in various fields of human activity usually has applications for people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups. However, when using artificial intelligence in sports, professional athletes are involved in the process, thereby introducing the concept of “digital inclusivity” into mass sports. We have considered the need to create special software for effective support of people in mass sports through the use of artificial intelligence in high-performance sports and the possibility of its adaptation to mass sports. To achieve this objective, we not only conducted a literature review but also interviewed leading experts on individual sports and individuals not engaged in high-performance sports. Based on the results of the literature analysis, we have identified not only breakthrough achievements in the use of artificial intelligence in sports but also problems that do not provide the opportunity to use neural network modeling. Both the literature review and the expert survey have shown that there is significant scope for use of machine learning in almost all sports as well as a large number of well-developed significant parameters for neural network modeling in high-performance sports. Interviews with all groups of respondents have shown that in modern information realities, there is a need to correctly use information for sports training, especially in mass sports, so as to reduce the risk of trauma.
