Abstract

Green construction brings new challenges and requirements to project management (PM), making the exploration of PM methodologies and frameworks that are suitable for green construction essential. This chapter provides an overview of green construction PM methodologies and frameworks. First, new challenges faced in green construction projects are described. Second, common PM methodologies and frameworks are introduced. In the end, the PM methodologies and frameworks that are suitable for green construction projects are highlighted. This chapter concludes that lean and agile facilitate better performance of green construction and significantly improve project quality. PM teams are prone to implement hybrid approaches of multiple PM methodologies, which show more advantages than single methodologies. This chapter broadens practitioners’, researchers’, and students’ knowledge of the PM methodologies and frameworks in green construction and enhances their PM capability, leading to delivering more successful projects and achieving a sustainable future in the construction industry.
