Abstract

What is the driving force behind the creation, animation and steering of communities of practice in organizations today? On the tools side, enterprise social networks are present in more than 80% of the top-40 companies and in 36% of companies in France. On the human side, individuals seek to find and interact with peers and experts within their own organizations to solve business problems or share common interests. Business leaders are investing in enterprise social networks because they recognize the potential gains in employee productivity and want to leverage communities to support transformations in the organization, and improve efficiency through the sharing of best practices within and between countries or entities…
