Abstract

December 2015 marked the proclamation of the Republic of Logone by Muslim rebels as a response to the ongoing civil war between Christians and Muslims in the Central African Republic, a small, landlocked country located, as the name implies, in the center of Africa. Two years earlier, a group of Muslim rebels had seized the capital Bangui with their leader declaring himself president. He remained in power for less than a year. Both communities have been accused of committing atrocities, with more than a million people believed to have fled their homes in a country of less than five million…
