Abstract

This chapter explores Quantum Fintech, an innovative field at the intersection of quantum mechanics and finance, offering novel solutions for challenges in portfolio optimization, option pricing, risk management, algorithmic trading, and cryptography. Quantum Fintech promises to surpass traditional computing methods, address high-dimensional problems, and enable more accurate financial models by leveraging quantum computing’s unique capabilities, such as parallelism and exponential speedup. Despite its potential, the field faces significant hurdles, including hardware limitations, noise and error correction, scalability, and ethical concerns. The chapter outlines a roadmap aligned with the IBM Quantum Roadmap, highlighting the progression from improved financial calculations to advanced quantum security measures. Through interdisciplinary research and advancements in quantum hardware, Quantum Fintech stands poised to revolutionize the financial industry, making financial models more efficient and transactions more secure.
