Abstract

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, substantial changes have occurred in China’s economic growth and regional development strategies. This study first reviews the four main stages of China’s regional economic strategy and then analyzes the transformation of the country’s regional development path from unbalanced regional development to coordinated regional development. It then lists the main tools of the regional policies. Lastly, it evaluates the gap in China’s regional economic development, discusses its existing problems, and offers solutions. This study promotes an understanding of the development of China’s regional policy as well as its regional coordinated development strategies.
