Abstract

This chapter recommends actions for championing the transformation of product development systems from serial to simultaneous. A transformation assurance process (TAP) is detailed for implementing concurrent product development (CPD). Ways of promoting the advantages of CPD are suggested for propagation. Examples of transformational leadership in prior chapters are listed. Suggestions on how to promote the adoption of CPD are illustrated. Baseline comparisons are provided with the deployment of practices in the SPOT databank. The concluding section of this book weaves together action steps from various chapters to provide a scenario for implementing change based on the logical flow of TAP. This 12-step check list reorders highlights from prior chapters to help champions reconfigure the knowledge of this book for transformational planning and actions.Appendix Table 20A provides a 12-step scenario for implementing TAP along with an assessment sheet. Appendix Table 20B enables readers to benchmark the extent to which their enterprise supports CPD as an essential driver of performance.
