Abstract

This chapter consists of sections on Introduction, Historical Overview, The Environment for Entrepreneurship and Toward the Future. Introduction, as follows:Bordering France, between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, the Principality of Monaco covers an area of two square kilometres, which is smaller than the Central Park in Manhattan. The constitutional monarchy is governed by the longest reigning dynasty in Europe, the House of Grimaldi. With neither arable land nor mineral resources, Monaco’s precious assets include the lack of personal income tax. A brewery, chocolate factory and flourmill have been replaced by high value-added activities in this tiny country that experiences negative unemployment.
