Encouraging Learning Environment In School Care For Pupils Of The First Grade

The purpose of this paper is to show the school’s learning environmental factors that affect the child’s cognitive, social and emotional development. Creating a safe environment which includes different types of work, exercises and games, gives the child the opportunity to learn and to research either independently or in groups. All of this helps children to interact not only with other children but also with their teachers. It is important to establish an encouraging learning environment already in the first class when they get to know their school, schoolmates and teachers. They have to get used to a new way of working as well as the school order and rules. Teachers play an important role when it comes to the point of building up a child’s self-esteem, whether children will like learning and going to school or not and how they will co-operate among themselves. Social games help building up satisfying relationships. To be in control of their social skills satisfies their own social needs and makes them understand and respect people around them. I have been using social games in class for several years to develop their sense of safety, identity, belonging, functionality and ability. It creates an encouraging learning environment and establishes a social integration, class climate and a good relationship between pupils and their teachers.
