Abstract

The almost overnight transition, forced by the Covid-19 pandemic, to engage in many “e-things” from home has highlighted multiple dimensions of the digital divide, issues such as quality of infrastructure, affordability and technical skills needed to be “connected” were clearly exposed. In this chapter, we deal with the effects of the digital divide, draw first lessons about the impact of the Covid-19 crisis and discuss the role postal operators have been playing and could continue to play to improve digital literacy, focusing on advanced countries.
