Abstract

In Chap. 2 , we discussed the primitives of game theory. Apart from the agents and their action sets, the primitives include the rules (or protocols) that enable interaction among the players and information about the environment in which a game is embedded. Given the rules and the environment, the joint action of players leads to an outcome, and each player has a preference over the outcomes. Different solution concepts for noncooperative games prescribe equilibrium outcomes. Communication among the players is modeled in noncooperative games, and the rules include communication protocols among the agents.
