Abstract

This chapter explores the critical tools and methods for harmonizing data from various sources, providing a seamless and efficient logistics ecosystem. It begins with an examination of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), a traditional method for data integration. The chapter delves into the transformative power of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), which enable seamless system communication. Web Services and Extensible Markup Language (XML) are introduced as modern approaches to data integration, facilitating interoperability among diverse logistics systems. The chapter concludes with an exploration of blockchain, highlighting its role in ensuring data integrity and security, reshaping logistics data integration by enhancing trust, transparency, and traceability. Readers gain a comprehensive understanding of how these technologies are unifying logistics data sources and optimizing supply chain operations.
