Abstract

This chapter commences with an exploration of the computer itself and delves into the basics of programming. The chapter covers algorithms, flowcharts, and pseudo code, offering insight into the logic and decision-making processes in coding. Object-oriented programming and UML diagrams introduce modern programming paradigms, while databases, ER diagrams, and DFDs are examined in the context of data management. The chapter also discusses querying and data analysis through SQL and Excel functions and concludes with an overview of “no or low coding” and the role of citizen developers in shaping the business coding landscape. This comprehensive understanding of coding and databases is pivotal in optimizing business operations and harnessing the power of data in the digital era.
