Abstract

Entrepreneurs identify marketplace opportunities and then implement business plans to be successful. One marketplace that entrepreneurs are active globally is in the field of education which is termed Edupreneurship. Edupreneurship is the establishment of a school regardless of existing resources, current capacity, or national pressures in order to create new educational opportunities. Edupreneurs establish new schools either for financial gain or for social causes due to a need in the marketplace to create improvements in the education system (Papadopoulos et al., 2017; Smith & Petersen, 2006). Edupreneurs are innovators effecting the education system who leverage their business experience to the education environment in the hopes of improving educational productivity, efficiency, and quality (Springer, 2019; Cuban, 2006).
