Abstract

Our book supports ontological thinking about strategic reasoning in game theory. In claiming that game theory and games should no longer be appraised as mathematical objects, we propose a change of perspective and a change to the meaning of strategic reasoning. We suggest that this should be understood as a real process of reasoning that must incorporate the players’ mental states to achieve a process of coordination, explaining how and why a specific equilibrium of individual beliefs emerges.
