Abstract

AI Governance is the essential framework that provides guardrails for the responsible implementation of AI across organizations, governments, and society at large. Its goal is to bridge the gap between AI’s potential and human oversight, ensuring that technology development and deployment align with ethical standards and societal values. As technology evolves faster than humans can adapt, AI Governance becomes critical to avoid repeating the mistakes seen with social media—such as privacy breaches, bias, and misinformation. Effective AI Governance places accountability at the forefront, involving the right leaders at the right time to guide AI initiatives responsibly. Are we prepared to govern AI, or will we risk repeating past errors at an amplified scale? This chapter provides a roadmap for establishing AI governance, highlighting the importance of regulatory compliance, accountability, and proactive oversight. The goal is to ensure AI serves humanity ethically and effectively, safeguarding against potential pitfalls. AI is advancing rapidly—let’s ensure our governance keeps pace.
