Abstract

Businesses and projects are increasingly gravitating toward Green Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) sources. Green FDI, which stands for FDI with environmentally positive goals and impacts, has become crucial in the present context. Vietnam’s overarching objective has always been long-term sustainable development, where economic growth runs in parallel with environmental preservation. This research utilizes qualitative methods, encompassing data collected from 2016 to 2022, to evaluate the effects of Green FDI on Vietnam’s sustainable development. The findings highlight that attracting Green FDI has led to significant changes in reducing environmental pollution while maintaining economic development. The study identifies opportunities and challenges, offers insights, and presents solutions for attracting Green FDI that is closely aligned with sustainable development.
