Abstract

Instead of Korea’s successful fast development drive being made only by the more homogeneous culture, there are modern good choices of development decisions and what will be called ‘good accidents’ (happenstance background conditions) that made the economic Korean Miracle and the cultural Korean Wave. The recognition that something odd was happening in Korea compared to other developing countries came in the late 1980s.
