Abstract

Women's participation in many aspects of socioeconomics is increasing nowadays. It is in line with the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote economic growth stability and the country’s well-being. Women's achievement in earning a bachelor’s degree opens the opportunity to join the workforce working as professionals and holding managerial positions. All of these are reflected in the Gender Empowerment Index. Due to the highest growth in 2022, the transportation sector, directly and indirectly, affects the level of women’s participation in future career and leadership paths. This chapter aims to portray and describe the determinants of woman's leadership in the transportation sector and highlight the challenges and opportunities faced by women in the coming years.
