Abstract

This chapter looks at the dynamic interplay between technology and the logistics sector in Vietnam. Beginning with an overview of the current logistics landscape in the country, it highlights the exponential growth spurred by the burgeoning economy and escalating international trade. The discourse progresses to dissect the transformative role of technology, elucidating how innovative solutions have revolutionized traditional logistics practices, thereby necessitating adaptation for sustained competitiveness. Through insightful case studies of industry frontrunners like TikiNOW and VinFast, the chapter illuminates the pragmatic implementation of technologies such as route optimization software and IoT devices, leading to enhanced operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. It also scrutinizes the formidable challenges hindering technology adoption, including infrastructural constraints and regulatory hurdles, advocating strategic collaboration between public and private sectors for viable solutions. Furthermore, the chapter highlights the indispensable role of governmental policies in building technological innovation, accentuating the pivotal partnership between academia, startups, and established players. Offering actionable recommendations, it highlights the imperative for a tech-proficient workforce, coherent digital strategies, and a proactive stance toward emerging technologies. Ultimately, it serves as a compass for logistics enterprises navigating the dynamic technological landscape, facilitating informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
