Abstract

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) concerns in the financial sector have been growing significantly in tandem with the worldwide sustainability agenda. Due to the diverse economic and financial development among ASEAN countries, the integration of ESG principles into banking practices and operations poses challenges and opportunities. This chapter delves into the role of the banking sector in advancing ESG in the region and provides the state of the art of ESG in this part of the world.
