Abstract

The swift advancement of digital technology has impacted numerous facets of social and economic development and has emerged as a pivotal force reshaping different industries worldwide. New digital tools like IoT, AI, blockchain, robotics, and big data analytics are considered as technologies with the potential to enhance productivity within the agricultural value chain. This paper examines how digital transformation is reshaping the agribusiness sector, mirroring global trends in industries worldwide. Building on the extant literature, a review of concepts, theories, and empirical studies was conducted through content analysis. The literature review encompassed research notes, conference papers, peer-reviewed articles, and industry reports related to digital transformation, agribusiness, and agripreneurship. Digital transformation enhances the innovation capability of agribusiness, while concurrently fostering improvements of its innovation quality. Through digitalization, we witness a profound shift in the dynamics among technology, inputs, suppliers, farms, traders, processing units, retailers, and consumers, heralding a new era of connectivity and efficiency creating sustainable agricultural practices. The impacts of digital transformation on agribusiness and agripreneurship are profound, offering valuable insights for decision-makers seeking to foster innovation, particularly in developing nations.
