Abstract

This section explores the profound connection between economic systems and the philosophy of altruism across various civilizations. The author delves into the essence of “Goodness” as a central theme in both Eastern and Western cultures, emphasizing that true wealth and happiness emerge not from self-interest, but from fostering loving relationships, spiritual enrichment, and public welfare. By examining historical models of economic goodness—from ancient Sumer to modern capitalism—the text reveals how sustainable economic development is rooted in altruism and mutual benefit. The author argues that only by shifting our values toward a shared prosperity and welfare can we address the conflicts between individuals, societies, and nature. Ultimately, this section sets the tone to advocate for an “Economy of Goodness” where altruism, harmony, and common benefit form the foundation of a prosperous and equitable world.
