Abstract

This book chapter introduces the burgeoning role of micro-influencers in today's digital era, emphasising how creative professionals can utilise micro-influencer strategies to gain influence and professional opportunities. The introduction provides the reader with a broad overview of the book, which explores what skills are needed to craft an independent digital identity for creative practitioners as well as other professionals. It highlights the importance of effective professional communication skills for freelancers in this social media age. Although an SMP identity may appear as an extension of the micro-influencers’ life, it is underscored that micro-influence necessitates thoughtful planning and practice.
