Abstract

The study emphasizes the significance of entrepreneurial ecosystem in the journey of women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. The research looks at the evidence to understand the women entrepreneurs better, to address the unique challenges they face, and the ways women entrepreneurs are navigating the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Bangladesh. The authors conducted a narrative literature review as the entrepreneurial ecosystem research is comparatively understudied in Bangladesh. The researchers compiled pertinent documents and data by manually searching academic research databases and used qualitative research techniques to arrive at the conclusions. The study’s findings offer crucial new perspectives on entrepreneurial ecosystem and the effect of its three components (social, cultural, and institutional) on women entrepreneurs from the beginning through the success of their business. In addition, this study addresses the particular difficulties women entrepreneurs confront in Bangladesh such as social hurdles, dearth of resources, inadequate business skills, and insufficient support. Nonetheless, many women entrepreneurs overcame these obstacles and became successful in their endeavors. The research also offers insights into women entrepreneurs’ mechanisms to traverse the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Finally, the study provides recommendations for policymakers to build a more welcoming and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in developing countries, particularly in Bangladesh.
