Abstract

In the context of the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, this paper employs the entropy-TOPSIS model to assess the capacity of cities in Hebei Province to undertake the automobile manufacturing industry from 2010 to 2021. It meticulously examines the developmental trajectories of industrial undertaking capacities specific to automobile manufacturing across various cities over the twelve years, while also providing a ranking of the capacities of each city within a specific year. Then, the paper puts forward an innovative “developmental priority” model and identifies the development priorities of the cities in Hebei Province. This is aimed at assisting governments in enhancing their industrial undertaking capabilities specific to automobile manufacturing. In this way, these cities can further improve their automobile manufacturing industry chain. Consequently, it will promote economic growth and employment in Hebei Province, allowing Beijing to develop its role as an economic growth pole.
