Abstract

This chapter is the epilogue of the book which explores the current challenges and opportunities facing all economic players through the monetary and financial sectors, as well as the policy implications for all public policymakers to ensure quality and inclusive welfare are achieved, which is contrary to the conventional notion of prosperity and welfare, namely a Pareto efficient or Pareto optimal situation. Therefore, this chapter is a reflection concerning the presence and role of money, especially the gold money as well as money development and innovation, such as the ones emerged due to technological disruption, including cryptocurrency and central banks digital currency. It also portrays the potential of Islamic social-public finance in creating new sources of economic growth, along with the salient issues concerning sustainable development through the green economy and financing.
