Abstract

The report of the 19th CPC National Congress promised that, from 2020 to 2035, the Chinese people will lead a more comfortable life, the size of the middle-income group will grow considerably; the development disparity between urban and rural areas, the development disparity between regions, and the disparity in living standards will be significantly reduced; equitable access to basic public services will be basically ensured; and progress will be made toward prosperity for all. To date, however, some outstanding problems like unbalanced and inadequate development remain unresolved.
