Abstract

This article adopts quantile regression to construct an econometric model with the economic statistics of 68 prefecture-level resource-based cities between 2007 and 2016 according to the fitting relation among the indicators associated with industrial structure upgrading of resource-based cities, to observe and analyze the regional heterogeneity of the indicators’ effect significance and influence. The results show: the indicator of technological innovation exerts the most significant influence on transformation and upgrading and shows regional heterogeneity that its influence on the east is greater than the influence on other areas; the indicators of marketization and government behavior play a negative role in overall samples and classified samples, and marketization shall be further improved and government functions shall be transformed to adapt to economic development and industrial structure transformation and upgrading; though environmental regulations show negative influence on the areas of a weak foundation, they promote technological innovation and develop emerging alternative industries on the whole, and thus advance the industrial structure transformation; finance apparently promotes the industrial structure transformation and upgrading; the spillover effect of openness has not been brought into full play; and the tertiary industry contribution rate effectively advances the industrial structure transformation and upgrading.
